The Japanese aesthetic is inspiring in its practicality and its beauty, the minimalism, the simplicity and the lines. There are  traditional words for the concepts involved in Japanese art and design like wabi-sabi – the mindfulness in the approach to everyday life, Miyabi – elegance or refinement, Shibui – contrasting or balancing different aesthetic concepts to provide interest or further meaning, iki – sophisticated but original, and there are others. These terms can also be applied to a variety of other topics besides art and design. Anyway here’s some cool stuff I found on etsy, either actually from Japan or what I think looks Japanese inspired.

From the etsy shop The Link Collective in Tokyo, here is a Japanese eco wrapping textile / scarf handmade in Japan using traditional Japanese printing techniques.
